Chuba Akpom looks set to return to Arsenal at the end of the season, after manager Arsene Wenger assured him he will be given a chance to prove himself in pre-season.
According to one of
his representatives, Emeka Obasi, officials of the Premier League club have
been keeping tabs on Akpom’s progress at Hull City.
Akpom, who is still
eligible to play for Nigeria despite representing England at junior level, has
scored five times for the Tigers, including a hat-trick against Bury FC in the
FA Cup in January.
“Akpom is doing very
well at Hull City and Arsenal have been looking at his progress with the club.
I am very certain that they will recall him at the end of the season and if he
is able to have another wonderful pre-season just like he had last season, you
never can know the prospect ahead of him,” Obasi told Goal.
“He is calm about
everything and he is going about his quest to become a notable Arsenal star
with utmost humility and he has continued to work harder to ensure that he
realizes his dream of playing more regularly for the club.”
