Chelsea have
announced that Oscar has agreed to sign for Shanghai SIPG.
The Brazilian midfielder spent four years at
Stamford Bridge, during which he won the Premier League, Europa League and
League Cup.
Oscar started the first five Premier League fixtures under Antonio Conte this season, but has since lost his place in the team, playing only 36 minutes in four substitute appearances.
He is now set for a £52m (€60m) move to the Chinese
Super League and will get a contract reportedly worth as much as £20 million-per-year.
Chelsea said in a statement on their official website: “We thank Oscar for his
wonderful service and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
“Oscar will arrive in Shanghai in the coming days
and he will become a member of our team,” read a statement from Shanghai SIPG.
“The playmaker, who is renowned for his attacking
abilities, will help the club push for the title in the new season.”
